Thoughts on snow and winter cold

  This is how the Green in Derby, Ct. looked this morning as the snow started to fall.

"In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago."

- First verse of a poem by 19th-century English poet Christina Rossetti, "In the Bleak Midwinter."

* I stumbled across this quotation and thought it a fitting one for those of us who live in Connecticut as we await the brunt of a blizzard today.
