Council prez takes stand against new grants system




Commenting today on being ignored by the state, Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo said, "It's tough to take a stand, speak out, be ridiculed for doing so and in the end being 100% correct! The new system is broken."

Photo group to participate in home show in Ansonia

ANSONIA - Members of The Valley Arts Council's Photographers Discipline will be displaying their work at the Spector Furniture showroom, 385 Main St. for the Annual Spring Home Show this weekend. 
The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Life model drawing sessions slated

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OUR 2013 LIFE MODEL DRAWING SESSIONS? 

THIS YEAR WE ARE USING BOTH NUDE AS WELL AS CLOTHED/COSTUMED MODELS

We need to know who is interested in advance , so we can plan accordingly.

• Informal sessions held in a relaxed atmosphere
• Open to all level artists (18+)
• All mediums

• We supply the model and chairs...

Murphy visits Gallery@37

Sen. Murphy
DERBY - Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo said he was happy to report that Sen. Chris Murphy "came to town today for a visit and toured our Gallery@37."
DiCarlo also showed Murphy around Galerie Chartier, at 35 Elizabeth St., next door to the council's gallery.
DiCarlo said he spoke briefly with Murphy about "our little (art) Renaissance" going on downtown.
