Art show highlights students' work

At the Gallery@37

Steve DiRienzo, left, arts council vice president, chats with sixth grader Alexis Pudimat (in orange shirt).
Students and parents enjoyed the show.

DERBY - The Gallery@37 was filled with talented kids and their proud parents Friday as the arts council hosted an art show and reception.

Eileen Ryan of Ansonia takes in the art on display.

The artwork was created by students at St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby, during an after-school program taught by arts council President Rich DiCarlo and Vice President Steve DiRienzo.

Here's a look at the students holding their artwork.
Their sculpture subjects ranged from flowers and animals to athletes and the Statue of Liberty.
Photos are posted in the order they were taken.
